Video has surfaced of Hillary Clinton appearing to stumble as she was led into a van after suffering a ‘medical episode’ during the 9/11 memorial service.
The Democratic presidential candidate is seen standing on a curb near the World Trade Center when she appeared to lose her balance.
One of her aides is seen grabbing onto her arm as the motorcade arrives. Her security detail then had to help her into the van buy grabbing each of her arms.
She then appears to lose a shoe under the vehicle in the struggle before being driven to daughter Chelsea’s apartment in Manhattan.
Despite the concerning footage, she emerged from the home at 11:45 on Sunday saying she was fine. She told waiting reporters: ‘I’m feeling great, it’s a beautiful day in New York’.
A smiling Clinton was then greeted by a young girl on the street to pose for a picture. She then waved at customers at a nearby restaurant before getting into a van.
She is now believed to be heading back to her house in Chappaqua, New York.
Nick Merrill, her travelling press secretary, said Clinton ‘overheated’ during the ceremony, but had quickly recovered.
But the video seems to show her symptoms are far worse than her aides have suggested.
She also appeared to lose a shoe as she walked into the vehicle.
Her detail retrieved a shoe from underneath the van and helped the former Secretary of State inside, according to reports.
The temperature was around 80 degrees at Ground Zero during the service.
Clinton was standing in the middle of a crowd of politicians packed together in a small space.
It is not known if she was standing in direct sunlight. There are many shaded areas surrounding the memorial.
Clinton suspended campaigning on Sunday in a show of support and respect for both those who died and those who survived the attacks.
Earlier on Sunday she tweeted: ‘We’ll never forget the horror of September 11, 2001. Today, let’s honor the lives and tremendous spirit of the victims and responders.’
The latest reports will add to claims from conspiracy theorists she has health problems.
Right-wing groups have tried to suggest pictures of her being helped a long by her security detail prove she is ill.
Controversial blog, American Mirror, started its conspiracy-theorizing post by stating Clinton’s health should be ‘a major issue of the 2016 campaign’.
Dr. Drew Pinsky’s HLN show was brought to an end after he made bizarre claims Clinton is suffering from a wide range of health problems, including brain damage.
He made the claims despite an extensive review revealed of her records revealed she was in good health.
Before the anniversary, Clinton recounted her memories of that fateful day that left 2,977 people dead.
She was serving as Senator of New York at the time and was heavily involved with dealing with the horrific aftermath.
In an interview with CNN’s Chris Cumomo, she said: ‘We saw this curtain of black smoke that was stretched across the island.
‘Occasionally it would be broken by a firefighter coming out. I remember one image so indelibly, dragging his ax, and it was as close to depiction of hell that I’ve ever personally seen.
‘There weren’t that many survivors; the ones that did survive were grievously injured. The loss of life was overwhelming.
‘But it was also my job and the job of other officials to get our city and state and country what we needed.’
She said she was in Washington during the attacks, though took a FEMA plane with her colleague, Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer, to survey the damage in Manhattan the next day.
In December 2012, Clinton fainted and suffered a concussion after contracting a stomach virus. When DailyMail.com asked about notes from a FBI interview that suggested it prompted memory losses, she chose not to respond.
In 2005, she fainted before a scheduled speech in Buffalo, New York after suffering a similar stomach virus.
