Kogi Guber: Usman Okai Raises Alarm Over Threats to Frame Up PDP Members

The Director of Public Communications, Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Campaign Council in Kogi State, Comrade Usman Okai Austin has raised alarm over intimidation and threats to frame up members of his party, the PDP ahead of the governorship elections scheduled for November 16th.

The political activist who disclosed this on Saturday, recalled his travails in the hands of operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS in 2017.

“I remember vividly in 2017 when SARS arrested me from Abuja down to zone A. There, they asked me to write my statement that, the state government has a security tip that I, Austin Okai, was planning to set Lokoja Revenue House on fire and that I am arming and training some thugs in Kogi, and that I have visited the area on several occasions. It was all a ploy to frame me up”, Okai said.

“I looked up and down but, deep inside me, I knew I was being framed up. This is the same scenario that is being played out on Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ejeh Abutu today.  Ejeh Abutu, DCP who went missing and within three hours is being paraded in Lokoja by police that he is in possession of firearms.

“We are well aware that Edward Onoja wants every Igala man to go for him to become deputy governor. He will fail again”, Okai warned.

“So many youths have been forced into the APC using this same formula and unfortunately SARS is a willing agency”, the PDP chieftain said.

He warned that well armed thugs have been shooting in Abocho for over 48 hours.

He expressed concerns over the parading of DCP Ejeh Abutu, who pulled a mammoth crowd yesterday in Dekina for WaDAro campaign is being framed up.

“The number one tool being applied is the framing up of supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kogi by Edward Onoja. He did it to Senator Dino Melaye in 2017, by using the same police. After Dino Melaye, it is now the turn of Ejeh Abutu, DCP.

“Onoja has turned himself to spokesperson of Kogi state police command, moving from one WhatsApp group to another that, DCP Ejeh Abutu has made a confessional statement”, he added.

“It is a lie! The whole set up started over two week ago when the approached DVP Ejeh Abutu with car and money which he rejected. Ejeh Abutu had said he cannot be part of the government that failed in its responsibility. After that, we got a tip of a plot to burn down Ejeh Abutu house In Ajiolo. We raised the alarm and some youths from our PDP were put on guard”.

“After that failed, here we are with a set up of a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police being in possession of firearms. They are angry at the large number of people that came out for Engr Musa Wada’s campaign rally yesterday in Dekina.

“The real men with guns and illegal firearms are Bello and Edward Onoja’s men. Senator Melaye caught them importing military wares into the country”, he warned.

“Elder Simon Achuba, the Deputy Governor also warned us that the reality of the problem in Kogi state is that of Bello’s men who are parading with guns unrestricted”, Okai revealed.
