Melania Trump Dismisses Husband Donald’s Dirty Remarks as ‘Boy Talk’

Melania Trump today stood by her husband, calling him a “gentleman” and dismissing his gloating about sexually assaulting women as “boy talk”.

Mrs Trump said that Donald was “egged on” by US TV host Billy Bush to say “dirty and bad stuff”.

She spoke out for the first time since videotape emerged of the Republican Presidential candidate making lewd remarks about women, which has sent his campaign into freefall.

With a laugh, she said: “Sometimes I say I have two boys at home: I have my young son and I have my husband.

“But I know how some men talk, and that’s how I saw it.”

Mrs Trump also accused the women who claim that Mr Trump sexually assaulted them of telling lies as part of a liberal media conspiracy.

She said: “I believe my husband.”

In the 2005 hot mic recording from US TV show Access Hollywood, Mr Trump says that he likes to “grab women by the p***y” and that he can get away with it because of his celebrity.

Ten women have now come forward claiming that he sexually assaulted them, ranging from touching their private parts to kissing them without consent.

Speaking to CNN Mrs Trump, 46, described her husband, 70, as “raw” and somebody who “tells it as it is”.

But she also claimed that the billionaire was a gentleman who “supports women” and “encourages them to go to the highest level”.

She said that she wanted to defend her husband because of all the ‘lies’ against him.

Mrs Trump said that she thought that the 2005 recording was “two teenage boys, actually they should behave better.”

She said: “That’s why I was surprised, because I said like I don’t know that person that would talk that way, and that he would say that kind of stuff in private.

“I heard many different stuff – boys talk.

“The boys, the way they talk when they grow up and they want to sometimes show each other: ‘Oh, this and that’ and talking about the girls. But yes, I was surprised, of course.”

Mrs Trump said that her husband was actually restrained around women – because she had seen them throw themselves at him.

She said: “I see many, many women coming to him and giving the phone numbers and, you know, want to work for him or inappropriate stuff from women.

“And they know he’s married.”

CNN interviewer Anderson Cooper said: “You’ve seen that?”

Mrs Trump said: “Oh yes, of course. It was in front of me. In front of me. And I’ve said, like: ‘Why did you give your number to my husband?’”

Mr Cooper said that Mr Trump was 59 at the time he made the comments in the 2005 interview and had only married Mrs Trump a matter of months before.

Slovenian-born Mrs Trump, a former model, said: “I said to my husband that you know the language was unappropriate.

“It’s not acceptable and I was surprised, because that is not the man that I know…they were kind of – ah – boy talk.

“And he was led on. Like egged on from the host to say dirty and bad stuff.”

The revelations about Mr Trump have caused his support among female voters to plummet and evangelicals to turn away from him.

But Mrs Trump said that on the 2005 tape her husband did not actually admit to carrying out the acts he talked about.

She echoed her husband’s official line that the release of the tape was part of a conspiracy organised by the Democrats.

She said: “I believe my husband, I believe my husband – it was all organised from the opposition.

“They can never check the background of these women, they don’t have any facts.”
