Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Al-Makura, has appealed to Nigerians to give the necessary support to President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, saying the nation is in a delicate state where it could fail or survive. He advocated for citizen re-orientation in ideals and values.
The governor said Buhari had the “pedigree and antecedents to take the country to the promise land.”
Al-Makura made the admonishment after he was invested with the ‘Leadership politician of the year award at the 2015 annual Leadership Newspaper conference and awards ceremony on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said, ”This country is in a position of whether to survive or to fail completely. This position we are in now is so critical.
“We have got a leader in this country who personifies commitment and sincerity of purpose; that is the President of this country, Muhammadu Buhari. I am calling on all of us that it is time to now or never support this wonderful Nigerian, who will take this country to the promise land given his pedigree and antecedents.”
Al-Makura called on Nigerians to re-dedicate themselves to national development through value re-orientation, rule of law, accountability, transparency and self-denial.
“I would like us to look inward and re-dedicate ourselves to the survival of this country through value orientation, ethics, rule of law, accountability, transparency and self-denial, leadership by example and above all, the fear of Almighty God.
“I think if we imbibe these attributes and we internalise them, Nigeria will have a very promising future given the leadership we have at the moment,” the governor added.
