Nigeria Police In Search Of Abducted Sierra Leone Diplomat

The Nigeria Police Force has deployed its officers in search of Maj. Gen, Alfred Nelson-Williams, the Deputy High Commissioner of Sierra Leone in Nigeria who was kidnapped along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in central Nigeria on Thursday.

Nelson was on his way to attend the graduation ceremony at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State which was held on Friday morning when he was abducted by unknown persons.

Efforts to reach him on the phone have since proved abortive, according to  Sierra Leonian embassy officials.

While confirming the abduction of the diplomat, Don Awunah, Nigeria Police spokesperson said the said the acting Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has already raised a special team to rescue him from his abductors.

He added that the Police will deploy all its assets, including aircraft to search for the abducted diplomat.
