Nigerians Petition Twitter To Shut Yomi Shogunle’s Account Over Ridiculous #EndSARS Tweet

Nigerians on Twitter have launched a campaign calling on Twitter to deactivate the account of the Yomi Shogunle, the head of  Police Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit.

The call started off on Thursday after he tweeted; “186 million Retweets to #EndSARS. Oya let’s go!” – a tweet ostensibly mocking and deriding citizens who are calling for Police reforms in the wake of increasing Police brutality targeted at innocent citizens.

The #EndSARS campaign is a social-media mobilisation against widespread recklessness, abuse of office, assault on innocent civilian and killings by Police SARS officials.

Twitter has erupted with replies and tweets calling for the social media platform to shut down Shogunle’s account following his provocative tweet.
