The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up in the latest FIFA ranking, claiming the 52nd position in the world.

Nigeria were held to a goalless draw by Tanzania in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier before they defeated Niger 2-0 in a friendly last month which explains whey they dropped from 10th to 9th in Africa despite moving up to 52nd in the overall ranking.

The Super Eagles could move further in the next FIFA ranking should they win their upcoming friendlies against Cameroon and Congo who are ranked 7th and 9th in the continent.

Algeria, 19th in the world, maintained their position as Africa’s top team while Cote d’ivoire, Ghana , Tunisia and Senegal completed the top five in Africa.

The next world ranking will be published by the official website of FIFA on November 5th 2015.
