Barack Obama has shown off his cool credentials again. He’s friends with Beyonce and Jay-Z, and has been pictured chuckling with Kanye West, so has now decided to get involved in the rap game.
Not many politicians could pull off asking their staff to ‘drop a beat’ or gesture as they asked a guest to rap – imagine David Cameron trying to do that with dignity – but Obama managed to do it.
Hanging out in the Rose Garden with a Redcoat drummer, Obama assisted Lin-Manuel Miranda through a freestyle based on an assortment of words the POTUS pulled out on flash cards.
The President, blissfully avoiding the Donald Trump mania which is sweeping the nation, seemed to be having a good time.
He grinned and said “You think that’s going viral? That’s going viral.”
