OP-UNEDITED | Why Deji Adeyanju Does Not Deserve To Be PDP NPS – By Taiwo Shomoye

By Taiwo Shomoye

I have been an ardent supporter of defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) right from 1998 till when it metamorphosed into the defunct ACN. I became a active supporter even on diaspora during the merging process of today’s deceit known APC.

I contributed actively and financially to the reelection campaigns of two South West ACN/APC Governors while in diaspora and even joined the caucus that visited these two Governors.

I have all my life developed enormous hatred for PDP as a party not because of the ideological believe of the party but because of some personalities whom I knew only meant good for themselves and not the nation.

Social media brought me in contact with one guy known as Prince Deji Adeyanju during the abduction of the Chibok Girls. We both tackled each other, Deji changed and gave me reasons to believe the #BringBackOurGirls campaign was not what was really meant to be.

He privately forwarded a 14-questions the immediate past First Lady asked those actors that were present during the viral “Na only you waka come, there is God o” video.

That singular email changed my political orientation till date.

I have found a new house and am happy I became a member during its renovation process. As PDP embarks on the renovation of her ideological building, people are already showing interest to be landlords to various unit under this gargantuan building. Am so happy that our energetic, strong and reliable Adeyanju Deji has also joined the race to be a unit landlord. Many are contesting for different positions in the forthcoming PDP national convention, which of course includes Prince Adeyanju, who is contesting for the post of the party’s National Publicity Secretary.

I am particularly concerned about Deji and would want to implore all the delegates not to vote for him based on the following:

PDP is presumed dead. The ruling class and those against PDP, are working assiduously to making sure the once acclaimed biggest party in Africa, dies prematurely. With a personality like Adeyanju, with his passion and strong will, he will use his last drop of blood to see that the party doesn’t go into oblivion. Him being elected would see a lifeline into the party they want dead.

Electing Deji as the image-maker of this PDP, he will end up injecting fresh, dynamicity and innovations into the image of the presumed dead party. The ruling party we currently have in the country would not want any opposition to be virile. The asset, younger class band that are rooting for Adeyanju both home and abroad, would further increase the membership of PDP.

Adeyanju is definitely a known threat to NOT those in the ruling party, with his boldness and daring attitude, but to those with the party who do still want PDP to be ran like the parties of the old. His domineering influence on Social media is undoubtedly a threat to many.

At a time that most people are so afraid of being intimidated or harassed, this young man from Kogi state, not only held the PDP online supporters as a formidable force against intimidation but won the party more supporters both online and offline. It is also known that he became more vocal while the major stakeholders within the party went low.
He even visited some of those in EFCC custody or Kuje prison.

Some PDP members would not want him to win because of his disposition in not wanting to play the political tricks. Many of us that have been privileged to work with Adeyanju, know him as a great Team player and upright soul. Why would a sane politician go against personality like Adeyanju whose hatred for our known “Dirty Politics” is visible and exceptional? He had never been found wanting in all the responsibilities bestowed on him in the past.  He with others even fought for the recognition of the office of “Directorate of New Media” under the NPS office.

Those that see no need in making PDP a modern party among its contemporaries in world should make sure that Deji Adeyanju is not elected.

Those that have strong love and passion for PDP and want it to die prematurely, just as the ruling party desires, should as a matter of urgency, stop him from transforming the publicity aspect of the party.

Those that do NOT desire more members within PDP and really appreciate this retrogressive CHANGE we have in the country presently, should ensure Prince Deji Adeyanju is schemed out and should not be voted for.

To every available position in any setting, candidates would apply but we have to realize that there are candidates and there are CANDIDATES, Adeyanju belongs to the league of CANDIDATES. His calm, bold, intelligent approach to issues differentiates him from others, why should PDP miss this great asset? A million naira question, pardon me, Dollar and not Naira.
