The concerned Benue youth network for the socio-political development of the state during an emergency session convened by its leader Comrade Lawrence Sunday Okoh unanimously endorsed Dr Emmanuel Agbo for the position of deputy national secretary of PDP and enjoined every party faithful all over the federation to join the Emmanuel Agbo project for the benefit of the party and by extension, the federal republic of Nigeria.
The group noted with satisfaction the gallantry and all inclusive leadership Dr Emmanuel Agbo has provided both the State and the party at large while he held sway as the Benue state chairman of PDP. The youth group noted that the quality leadership of the group under Agbo’s tenure was very visible even to the blind and audible to the deaf.
The group found it extremely difficult to bankroll another candidate in the face of what it termed purposeful and forthright leadership qualities of Dr Emmanuel Agbo which had been tasted in the past.
The group also counted in Agbo’s favour, the youth-friendly style of his leadership and thus found it inevitable to support him in the face of this Not Too Young To Run campaign preceding the 2019 elections knowing fully well that their interests can only be fully guaranteed under an Agbo dogged leadership.
A humble leader who connects with the ordinary masses and distinguishes himself as a hardcore friend and lover of the youths must not be abandoned in search of any other never do well who might grab power and unleash mayhem on the party and the youths of the state.
The group also regretted that the wealth of experience the faithful party man who has never defected from PDP since his incursion into the party has acquired over the years, the dire situation of the party and the need for a strong and virile opposition to entrench lasting democracy in the annals of our history has made it impossible to consider another candidate.
The group finally noted that since this position has been zoned to Benue, the need to present a quality candidate who will make Benue people proud through a robust and purposeful leadership had also worked in favour of Dr Agbo Emmanuel who is the only person Benue state today can present to the outside world in the position of deputy national secretary of PDP.
