Remi Tinubu Raises ₦20bn for National Library Project

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced that over ₦20.4 billion has been raised for her proposed National Library fund.

Mrs Tinubu, who recently marked her 65th birthday, had urged well-wishers to donate towards completing the long-abandoned National Library headquarters in Abuja.

On Monday, she confirmed the total raised so far, describing it as a major step in reviving the project.

The initiative has, however, drawn criticism from the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), while Labour Party’s Peter Obi said the move by the First Lady should not be encouraged
