Saudi Prince Claims Twitter Account Was Hacked

The son of the late King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia has claimed that his Twitter account was hacked just hours after a controversial message was tweeted. Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd, the tweet implied, felt that his life was in danger following a visit to the present monarch, his uncle King Salman.

“After performing Hajj,” said the tweet, “I will bid farewell to my uncle Salman and I will travel. If I do not leave, know that I was killed.” The tweet was later deleted, but not before it was circulated widely on social media. Twitter uses believe that it was a message from the prince warning of a threat to his life. He had already issued photographs of himself with King Salman after performing the pilgrimage.

However, soon after the tweet was deleted the prince published a new message saying that his account has been retrieved from the hackers. He did not refer to the previous tweet or its contents, nor did he accuse anyone in particular of hacking into his account.

Twitter users did not rule out that the first tweet was written by the Saudi prince, who is known for sending controversial messages. He stirred controversy recently after he accused Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed of being a traitor.
