TEDxBodija Gives Speaking Opportunity to All

Press Statement

Organisers of the biggest TEDx event in Nigeria – TEDxBodija – have announced that they will be giving speaking opportunity to participants through an initiative called TEDxBodija Innovation Contest. The Innovation Contest is aimed at motivating, recognizing and supporting valuable innovation by young entrepreneurs in Nigeria. The prize will be annually awarded in two categories, both with the objective of supporting growth of innovative start-ups in Ibadan. The first prize is for the most innovative project which is already launched and has been in existence for minimum of three (3) months and a second prize is for the most innovative idea which is yet to be implemented. Both winners will be given the opportunity to talk about their project and idea respectively at TEDxBodija, with the aim of getting them support from the government and the private sector.

Projects and ideas of various categories – Social Enterprise, Business Innovation, Technology, Public Policy or Cultural Innovation – are expected to compete for the prizes. The idea came in response to different requests from individuals to share their ideas at the event. TEDxBodija has taken the event a step ahead of its’ likes, by getting the audience involved in the event in this special way. The two winners of the contest will be delivering a presentation at the event in order to showcase their ideas and projects to the prospective investors, the government and the world at large, as the event will be live-streamed.

Individuals who have ideas worthy of sharing are expected to enter for the contest at www.tedxbodija.com where a form will be filled with details of their innovative ideas/projects. A panel of judges consisting of entrepreneurs, business development experts and financial analysts will look into the various entries and select two winners who will have the opportunity to speak at TEDxBodija about their innovations.
