Commuters plying the Abuja/Keffi highway went through a harrowing time on Monday night following a crash involving an articulated truck which lost control and crushed 15 vehicles, including four Sports Utility Vans, three trucks, a hummer bus, taxis and other vehicles.
Punch reports that the accident, which occurred sometime after 9pm, caused a serious traffic gridlock and grounded traffic on the whole stretch of the expressway as Federal Road Safety Corps personnel and other security operatives battled to clear the road.
The FRSC Education Officer, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the incident, adding that rescue efforts were ongoing.
He, however, said there were no reports of casualties yet, adding that he was still getting updates from the men at the scene.
Kazeem advised motorists coming from Keffi to take the Karu bridge in order to avoid the gridlock.
