Wanted Aisha Achimugu Dated Akpabio, Seized His Houses, Now Hunted by U.S. Authorities

Aisha Achimugu, a fugitive declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC ), was once romantically involved with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu , according to insider sources.

During her relationship with Akpabio, the Senate President allegedly purchased two luxury properties for her—one in Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos, and another in Maitama, Abuja . However, after their breakup, Achimugu reportedly seized both properties and took millions in cash belonging to Akpabio.

Following their split, Achimugu moved on to Senator Albert Bassey, a relationship that reportedly angered Akpabio. Insiders claim Akpabio ensured Bassey’s gubernatorial ambitions in Akwa Ibom State failed. The two politicians have since reconciled.

Achimugu later became romantically involved with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, allegedly amassing significant wealth from the relationship. Reports suggest she used funds from Sanwo-Olu to purchase a luxury necklace worth £1 million (approximately ₦2 billion).

The EFCC has since frozen over 167 bank accounts linked to Achimugu under BVN number 22274372289 , amid allegations of financial crimes.

Additionally, U.S . authorities are reportedly pursuing her in connection with an international money laundering investigation.
