Mrs Mercy Joe -Blankson ,Founder of Widows Hub Africa Initiative and Joe Blankson foundation ,called on widows to rediscover selves and reposition for purposeful and meaningful living despite their loss.
Mercy made the call today in an interview ,She said having experience widowhood at a young age and how all promises made to her during her husband’s demise by friends and associates were not kept ,prompted her to begin to feel the pains of other widows.
Mercy said her NGO was born out of concern for the pains and betrayal widows go through as many even losses the strength to bounce back to life .
Mercy said the NGO which primary aim is to provide mentorship to widows, shall also be helping them connect so they can heal,live grow and succeed, apart from providing legal free service to widows who suffers intimidation or victimization, the NGO will also provide immediate transiting accommodation with the aim of providing a possible lasting solution.
Mercy said while the NGO is solely been financed by her for now ,it is open for donations and sponsorship from like minded persons who wants to be part of the movement of restoring hope to widows as she intends to reach out to many widows from Nigeria and all over Africa who needs a voice.
Mercy’s husband died in a boat mishap while trying to rescue the fourteen person.
