World Cup: Nigeria Melts Iceland 2-0

Nigeria rekindled its World Cup campaign — and gave a boost to Argentina — with a 2-0 victory over Iceland in Volgograd on Friday. Ahmed Musa had both goals.

Had Iceland won, Argentina would have been in a terrible spot to advance. Now a win over Nigeria could well be enough for it, the New York Times reports.

After a goalless first half, Musa gave Nigeria the lead with counter-attacking goal early in the 49th minute and increased the lead with a brilliant solo goal in the 75th minute.
