Chude Jideonwo, Co-Founder of Red Media and StateCraft Inc has come under fire from a section of Nigerians on Twitter for attacking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari in a tweet. Red Media and StateCraft Inc were among the communications companies contracted to market candidate Muhammadu Buhari to Nigerians in 2015, especially on social media.
A few days ago, Chude had tweeted:
The arrogance of the National APC was/is in thinking the 2015 victory was about them. Shame on you. It was never about you. It was always about us – citizens. You lost your mind, became like those you ejected, and now will end up in the same disgrace.
— Chude Jideonwo (@Chude) July 31, 2018
For @MBuhari to fail so terribly and have the audacity to want to run for a second term, ensconced in the delusion that he has a record to run on? There are not enough dead heroes for you to honour that will wipe away this shame.
— Chude Jideonwo (@Chude) July 31, 2018
Several Nigerian Twitter users did not fall for the tweets which were perceived as a face-saving attempt to appear non-partisan after actively campaigning for President Buhari’s election in 2015.
In a widely circulated 2015 opinion article written by Chude in support of Buhari, he wrote about how he spoke in tongues and received a divine epiphany that true change was coming to Nigeria through Buhari in 2015.
“One day, as we prayed, in an office on the Lagos Island, I was so overwhelmed with despair I fell down on the floor and began to speak in frenzied tongues, tears streaming from my face, banging furiously on the cabinet in front me. My heart was desperate; just desperate for something to give way.
“I didn’t know my friend, Kola, had the gift to interprete tongues. But then he began to interpret what I was saying. And it frightened me, because he was absolutely right. He captured the fears in my heart, and the requests I was making. He said, paraphrased, ‘God says He will change Nigeria. It looks like it won’t happen, but He will do a new thing and it will spring forth. We won’t understand how He will do it, but He will. Two years later, God has kept his promise”, Chude wrote.
It’s barely three years after, Chude is singing a new song in a manner similar to how he worked for the election of Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 only to switch sides to a new client in 2015.
Below are a set of tweets in reaction to Chude’s new anti-Buhari anthem;
Please don’t mind this guy….mark their faces. pic.twitter.com/dxgAnO9Jcg

Why is this tweet coming immediately after Bukola Saraki ejected himself from the APC? You don’t seem different from these crocked politicians.
— akindeji oyeleke (@iam_oyeD) August 1, 2018
You seem disillusioned with APC\Buhari. But the annals of this regime will be incomplete without reference to your fervent involvement in bringing them on board. Did you really believe he had the vision, intellectual capacity, willpower and competence to lead Nigeria forward?
— LegitAdvocate (@LegitAdvocate) August 1, 2018
If you believed he had the traits to lead us forward, what do you think has gone wrong? Is he out of his depths as a leader? Does he have the wrong team around him? Or do we attribute your abrupt turnaround to being ignored or schemed out of the feast?
— LegitAdvocate (@LegitAdvocate) August 1, 2018
The first major delusion was when you used this same platform to propose that Buhari had anything to offer Nigeria. Now it’s glaring that he shouldn’t have had a first term at all! It was never about the citizens in the first place. Buhari had nothing to offer. He still doesn’t

What I see in this tweet is that someone is losing patronage.

Ah! @chude is this really you? ???? https://t.co/lBNyUG2pbd
— Mr Stanley Nwabia (@MrStanleyNwabia) August 2, 2018
My main worry is not even about the defections, but I want to know how on earth in 2015, Chude and Adebola thought Buhari would be a success story, when some of us “adults” could see all these 2018 disasters, even from lying on our beds… All these children sef ???? ????

Meanwhile, Nigerians have raised serious concerns about the #67MillionYouth campaign – a new project that seeks to mobilise young Nigerians in the run up to the 2019 presidential polls.
The campaign has been accused of being predominantly populated with members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a platform to hoodwink unsuspecting young Nigerians to back President Buhari’s 2019 re-election bid.
Adebola Williams, Chude’s business partner and Co-Founder of Red Media and StateCraft Inc sits on the campaign as a Trustee.
FRAUD ALERT!!! Dear @DebolaLagos and @Chude, after supporting Buhari in 2015, you have now returned with this new scam to defraud unsuspecting Nigerian youths. Sorry, it will not work. We are Nigerian youths and your @67MillionYouth Campaign DOES NOT SPEAK for us! pic.twitter.com/NaGszTtpLN
— The Nigerian Wailers (@NGRWailers) July 25, 2018

In 2015, you scammed people by marketing a FRAUD. You have come again with same style. You couldn’t even change style.
A fraud is a fraud no matter the packaging. NEVER AGAIN pic.twitter.com/7skAcY74rL

BREAKING | We present at least 30 MEMBERS of the @67MillionYouth Campaign who are CONFIRMED members of APC & CORE supporters of Buhari & his re-election campaign. We challenge them to deny their APC membership. Nigerian youths, Google these names for yourself. #67MillionFraud pic.twitter.com/7VSLegX8Oi
— The Nigerian Wailers (@NGRWailers) July 31, 2018
Chude’s latest tirade against the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari may not be unrelated to the pressure the #67MillionYouth campaign is currently facing in the wake of the public outrage that has welcomed the campaign.
As one Twitter user noted;
Why do I view these tweets with suspect? Such public attacks does not mean you are not privately working for @MBuhari‘s return. Is this a strategy by your Red Media to make @67MillionYouth appear non-partisan? pic.twitter.com/PeTEWJJkeR
