Chelsea want Zinedine Zidane as their next manager if they sack Maurizio Sarri and hope he can take Blues back to the very top.
According to The Sun, the Frenchman, who is currently without a club since his departure from Real Madrid, is well liked by the Chelsea Board who consider him a top coach at the highest level, having won the UEFA Champions League in three consecutive seasons as coach of Los Blancos.
Zidane being linked with the Chelsea job would be good news for Victor Moses as the former Nigeria international has cited the 1998 World Cup-winning midfielder as his football idol.
The 28-year-old saw his first-team opportunities limited after Sarri replaced Antonio Conte as coach and was farmed out on loan to Fenerbahce in the January transfer window.
Moses told Fenerbahce TV last week when asked to name his football idol: “Zidane. He was a great player. His movements in the field were more relaxed and he was confident in playing with the ball.”
Moses’ contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of the 2020-2021 campaign.
