Sunderland footballer Adam Johnson has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child.
The 28-year-old winger admitted one count of sexual activity with a child and one of grooming at Bradford crown court on Wednesday.
The midfielder, who has played 12 times for England, denies two charges of sexual activity with a girl aged under 16.
Johnson was arrested in March 2015. He was suspended by Sunderland following his arrest but that was lifted when his bail was extended by five weeks a fortnight later.
He went on to feature in the side that survived relegation from the Barclays Premier League and has since made four appearances for the club this year.
The Sunderland wing wizard is due to go on trial on Friday.
