The family members of a Nigerian school girl who was abducted by Boko Haram and then escaped are demanding information from the country’s government over her whereabouts according to a report by The Guardian, UK.

Amina Ali Nkeki was one of the 219 girls kidnapped from Chibok, Nigeria, in 2014 that led to international outrage and the #BringBackOurGirls campaign. Her rescue last month drew international headlines. The demand was issued in a statement released Wednesday, marking the 800th day since the girls were taken.

Ali was found by Nigerian soldiers on May 17 as she wandered with her 4-month-old baby and the infant’s father, a Boko Haram fighter, through the Sambisa Forest, where the extremist Islamic group is based. The fighter was killed and Ali was flown to Abuja for a meeting with President Muhammad Buhari, but she has not been seen since.

“Even this morning people came to my house asking if I had been able to find out her whereabouts. It’s outrageous. Some people are crying. We don’t understand why the government wants to keep her family away,” Yakubu Nkeki, an uncle of Amina Ali Nkeki, told The Guardian.

The founders of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, Aisha Yesufu and Oby Ezekwesili, released a statement saying they have a “number of concerns” about Ali since the government has held her for more than a month in what was called her “restoration process.”
