Boko Haram Planning to Poison Water Sources – Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army said that it has uncovered plan by the Boko Haram terrorist to poison water sources in the North East (NE) region.

Assistant Director Army Publuc Relations Officer of 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Joseph Adekunle Afolasade, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen.

Afolasade who described the fleeing of Boko Haram terrorist as a great sign of desperation called on the people in the North East to always remain vigilant.

“The Command wish to inform the General Public that Boko Haram terrorist plan to buy large quantity of rat poison and other poisonous items from markets in Nigeria to enable them poison water sources particularly in the North Eastern states.

“The Nigerian Army Theater Command therefore called on the general public particularly the market men and women vendor ind such items to be vigilant. The statement therefore urged citizens of the region to report any person buying large quantities of such commodities to security agencies.

He re-iterated the determination of the Nigerian Army along with the support of other security agencies to defeat the Boko Haram terrorist in the country.
