President Muhammadu Buhari has intervened in the dispute between the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force over the recruitment of 10,000 additional personnel.
The Chairman of the PSC, Mr Musiliu Smith, stated this on Tuesday soon after a meeting with Buhari.
Smith, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, and members of the PSC met with Buhari where Smith presented the 2018 annual report of the commission to Buhari.
Asked whether the dispute was discussed with Buhari, Smith confirmed that it was tabled before the President.
“Yes, it was. We took the opportunity to brief Mr President and I am sure his lieutenants are taking care of it”, he added.
