President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday officially inaugurated 43 ministers into the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for his second term.
The new ministers were sworn in at the Council Chamber, State House, Abuja.
Mohammed Bello, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Buhari’s first term has retained his portfolio.
Recall that one of Bello’s first promises, upon assuming office in November 2015, was to secure the city and improve infrastructure in the entire FCT. However, road mishaps escalated and crime rates soared under his watch as a result of defective traffic and street lights that left the city in total darkness.
CCTVs that would have helped detect crime remained non-functional. Poor waste management and the rampant trend of open defecation gained the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) the title of “a stinking city”.
Two years into Mr Bello’s regime, in April 2017, hundreds of frustrated residents stormed the administrative headquarters of the FCT protesting against the minister’s incompetence.
Notoriously acclaimed as the ‘Minister of Darkness’, Buhari has rewarded Bello with a fresh appointment as Minister of the FCT.
Security has failed all across Nigeria, but our Babes partying at Abuja Night clubs is the one that is worrying our Agbaya Sharia Govt and their ‘ghost of darkness’ FCT Minister.

Shame on PMB and the FCT Minister for leaving Abuja in this state of darkness. Ridiculous.

So, the new mandate of the FCT minister is to raid nightclubs, assault and arrest women randomly, while streetlights in the city don’t work. The city is a coven of darkness at night. And public utilities are decaying.
There’s no single achievement that can be tied to him. #Shame— Anthony Ada Abraham (@Okrote4real) April 29, 2019
Abuja is very dark in the night. The street lights are not working. What is the FCT minister doing? Even some states are doing better. Haba!
