Nigeria’s military says it has destroyed militant Islamist group Boko Haram’s rocket-making factory on the outskirts of the north-eastern town Bama.
Boko Haram was suspected to have run the factory with equipment stolen from school laboratories in Bama, it said in a statement.
Rocket shells, gas cylinders and welding machines were among the items found at the site, the statement added.
Boko Haram released photos on 2 November of what it said was its rocket-making factory in Nigeria.
The military also said it had arrested a suspected Boko Haram “kingpin”, John Trankil, in Maiduguri, the main city in north-eastern Nigeria.
