Former Super Eagles captain and manager Sunday Oliseh and his new team Fortuna Sittard continued their rise up the table in the Netherlands with a 4-1 win over Utrecht II.
Oliseh took over the reins of the club in January, and has so far helped their aim of trying to avoid the drop to the third division in the Netherlands.
Their lastest win extends their unbeaten run to four games this season, the first time they are putting together such a run since the start of the season.
The win also lifted them to 16th on the log standings, and pulled them further away from the drop zone as they are presently on 27 points, 17 points more than bottom placed Achilles ’29.
A Nigerian striker, Babatunde Junior Torunarigha completed the route for the former Super Eagles coach.
Torunarigha was introduced in the 81st minute, replacing Finn Stokkers, and five minutes later, he sealed the massive win for Oliseh’s men.
It was Torunarigha’s first goal of the campaign for Fortuna Sittard.
Emrah Bassan, Finn Stokkers and Didier Dianessy, had already put Sittard in a comfortable position.
Bassan opened scoring for Sittard in the 12th minute and it was doubled in the 26th minute by Stokkers from a spot kick.
Mohammed Loukili pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 55th minute, but Dianessy restored their two goal lead in the 66th minute.
Super sub, Torunarigha completed the routing in the 86th minute.
