President Buhari Jets Off to France, United Kingdom

President Muhammadu Buhari kicks off today a state visit to France and the United Kingdom, the special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, announced according to a report by Prensa Latina.

He will attend a special session of the European Parliament on his first stay in Strasbourg, on Feb.3.

According to a statement, Buhari’s attention will be focused on the fight against terrorism, violent extremism, corruption and current security in Nigeria and Africa, as well as the economic and development challenges and the need for a greater support from the European Union and the richest countries to its prompt solution.

Buhari will meet with President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, and President of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker, about those issues before traveling to London to join other world leaders in a meeting on Syria.
