Radio Biafra Has Resumed Broadcasting – IPOB

Uncertainty has trailed the announcement by the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) that Radio Biafra has begun transmission again after the federal government blocked the airwaves last year, Naij.com reports.

IPOB  in a release by its spokesman, Emma Powerful stated that the station now operates on short waves and its satellites covers the entire southeast geopolitical zone, including Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, London, Daily Post reports.

Powerful added that the programmes of Biafra Radio could be reached through apps and phones. He said: “Right now, we are back on shortwave after Nigerian government spent millions of dollars taxpayers money trying to stop Radio Biafra. All Biafrans and friends of Biafra can now go to 11600 kHz at 25-meter band to cherish the gospel of truth, Broadcasting time is 8pm London time, 9pm Biafra land time. We are unstoppable because Chukwuka Okike Abiama, Almighty God, is on our side.”

Meanwhile, IPOB  has alleged that there is a plot in place by the federal government, Department of State Security, three south east governors and some National Assembly members to eliminate its leader and director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

According to the pro-Biafra group, the plot would be carried out on Kanu’s way to his next court meeting, Vanguard reports. This was contained in a statement signed by its media and publicity officer, Emma Powerful. The group has also threatened nationwide protests, according Emma Powerful. He said the group had endured enough waiting for the federal government to release its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested in 2015.
