Serena Defeats Kerber to Clinch 2016 Wimbledon Crown

World No.1 Serena Williams on Saturday defeated Angelique Kerber 7-5, 6-3 to clinch the Wimbledon women’s singles title 2016.

By beating Kerber, she won her 22nd Grand Slam and 7th Wimbledon title.

The fourth seed Kerber had beaten Williams in the Australian Open final in January but could not produce another shock.

Williams ends a losing run stretching back to Wimbledon last year.
