The US yesterday issued a travel warning cautioning American against visiting Saudi Arabia.

The State Department said the call comes “due to continuing threats from terrorist groups.”

Saudi Arabia currently head an Arab coalition which is fighting Houthi militias and those loyal to ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in its southern neighbour Yemen. As a result it has come under direct rocket fire from the Houthis.

The US’ ban also bars all government personnel and their families from going within 50 miles of the Saudi-Yemen border.

It is reported that there were 34 terror attacks in Saudi Arabia in 2016.
