Victoria Beckham has solidified her spot as fashion royalty both on and off the runway. The singer-turned-fashion designer now has another accolade to add to her extensive list: best-dressed traveler.
The brunette beauty was named the world’s best-dressed female celebrity traveler by British Airways for their Best Dressed Traveller List 2016. “Victoria Beckham always gets it right when flying and it’s so impressive,” said fashion stylist and Vanity Fair’s Contributing Editor, Elizabeth Saltzman, in a release. “Usually there is a menswear element to her travel wardrobe, it’s chic and sophisticated but still classic and comfortable.”
To make the decision, the judges looked at hundreds of images of celebrities taken at airports. Victoria beat out other fashion icons like Amal Clooney, Kendall Jenner, Angelina Jolie, and Gwen Stefani who were all in the top five. “The women on this list are all powerful examples of the modern world,” added Elizabeth, whose clients include Gwyneth Paltrow, Uma Thurman and Saoirse Ronan. “Their style is classic with a personal twist. This is about the power of women and being able to balance it all.”
This is the first award to be announced and the Best Dressed Male Traveller will be revealed in a few months. “We’ve always been associated with traveling in style,” said Abigail Comber, British Airways’ Head of Customer in a release. “We wanted to honor today’s style elite and those frequent flyers who embrace the enduring glamour and excitement of jumping on a plane.”
