Growing Up Was So Tough I Had to Iron My Own Clothes – Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo says he had a tough time growing up – because he had to do his own ironing.

Ronaldo, who is one of the world’s best footballers, is also known for his incredible work ethic and hard-working attitude to life.

‘When I was a teenager, I had to do things as a man,’ he explained.

‘It was at the point that I had to do my own ironing. My mental strength began at this time.

‘I’m the person I am today because of the time I spent without my family and going through difficult times.’

Ronaldo went on to add that he plans to ‘live like a king’ when he retires from football – something that should be easy given his reported £300,000-a-week salary.
