Alvaro Morata will start for Chelsea against Roma in Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Spanish striker is in line to make his return to the Blues team and feature from the start for Antonio Conte’s men in the European clash in west London.
Morata sat out Saturday’s disappointing 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace due to a hamstring injury but he is now set to return to action for the Blues, according to the report.
The 24-year-old striker has been working on his fitness levels at Chelsea’s Cobham training base in recent days and he will be hoping to be back in action as quickly as possible.
Morata has made a fine start to life at Chelsea since his move to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The striker has scored six goals and made two assists in seven Premier League appearances for the west London side.
Chelsea will be aiming to continue their fine start in the Champions League against Roma on Wednesday, with the Blues having won both of their opening group games – against Qarabag and Atletico Madrid.
