Eid-El-Maulud: Shiites Mourn Hundreds Killed in Zaria Massacre

Kingsley Kanayo

Shiites members in Kano took to the streets in their numbers on Thursday to mourn members killed during the Zaria massacre and celebrate the annual birthday anniversary of the Prophet Mohammed, an event that is known as Maulud procession.

According to Sahara Reporters, the Shiites led by Mallam Sanusi Abdulkadir said it has been their practice to partake in the celebratory message of Maulud Nabiy, but this year’s message is different because they are out to mourn the genocidal carnage perpetrated by the Nigerian Army against their member in Zaria. Shiites-mourn2

Before commencing of the procession, the Shiites gathered at Kabara before passing through the routes of Soron Dinki, Makwarari Jakara, and Kwanar Dala, da Gwammaja and Kofar Mazuma areas in Kano metropolis.
