The organising secretary of the Kano state chapter of the All Progressive Congress, Suraju Kwankwaso, today in Kano, dismissed as baseless and unfounded, claims that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has defected to the People’s Democratic Party.
In a telephone chat with Punch, Suraju categorically stated that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been an authentic member of the party, stressing that he has no plans to pursue his political activities on another political platform.
Meanwhile, he disclosed that an emergency meeting is in progress, to dismiss rumours making that round that Kwankwaso has defected to another party.
”As I speak to you, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been and still an authentic member of the All Progressive Party.”
Besides, he explained that the APC National Headquarters in Abuja recognizes no other faction, except that of Kwankwaso, as the authentic APC in Kano.
According to him, if Kwankwaso was planning to defect to another party, he would, as he did when he formally defected to the APC made it known to members of the public, including the State Assembly, by addressing a press conference.
