At least 10 people died when two passenger trains collided in southern Italy, officials said.
Dozens more were injured, a spokesman for the fire brigade told The Associated Press.
The crash happened on the Bari Nord train line, a single-track railway line between Ruvo di Puglia and Corato.
“I think there are many dead”, Riccardo Zingaro, commander of the regional government of Andria, told Italian news agency ANSA.
A child who survived the crash with injures was pulled from the wreckage and taken to hospital by helicopter, ANSA reported.
