Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Saturday, came to the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to open his defence in the petition against him before the tribunal.
The petition was filed by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the State, Barr. Emmanuel Jime.
Ortom, who is of the Peoples Democratic Party, arrived at the court at exactly 8:50 a.m., on Saturday.
Ortom is likely to be called as a witness.
Recall that Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress, APC had petitioned the tribunal challenging the election of governor Ortom in the March 23 governorship election in the state.
