Heavily armed security personnel have been positioned inside and outside the Kano State House of Assembly as the seven-man investigative committee set up by the state lawmakers over the alleged bribery video involving the governor of the state, Umar Ganduje is set to commence sitting today (Thursday).
The security personnel consist of the Police, Department of Security Service (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
All roads leading to the Assembly complex were barricaded by the armed security men.
Further observation indicated that only accredited persons were allowed to gain access into the premises of the Assembly.
Thousands of supporters of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who also stormed the secretariat to witness the sitting, were prevented from entering into the venue by the heavily armed security men.
The hearing is expected to commence by 11:00am as the publisher of Daily Nigerian, the medium that released the video clip portraying Ganduje receiving bribe from an unidentified contractor is expected to appear before the committee.
