More than 20 have been killed and dozens injured in a head-on train collision in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria, according to an Egyptian media reports.
Footage broadcast on state television showed one train had partly keeled over in the crash, and medics were seen moving the dead and injured to ambulances.
Dr. Mohamed Abu Homs, the head of the ambulance services in Alexandria’s western sector, said the collision took place in the western suburb of Khorshid on Friday evening.
One train had been travelling from the capital Cairo, the other from Port Said.
