Luis Suarez Beats Lionel Messi, Neymar and Samuel Eto’o to Barcelona Record

Luis Suarez has made a better start to his Barcelona career than any other attacker in the club’s history.

The Uruguayan joined from Liverpool in 2014 and made his 100th appearance for the Spanish champions in Saturday’s shock defeat to Alaves.

But in his first 100 matches Suarez has scored 88 goals, and no other striker in Barcelona’s history has come close to matching that figure.

In second place is Samuel Eto’o, who had netted 68 times in his first 100 appearances. Third on the list is Neymar with 58 goals in his first century of games.

Goals scored in first 100 games for Barca

Luis Suarez: 88Samuel Eto’o: 68

Neymar: 58

Rivaldo: 57

Patrick Kluivert: 52

Thierry Henry: 46

Ronaldinho: 44

Lionel Messi: 41

Surprisingly, Messi, who made his senior debut at the age of 17, is eighth on the list behind Rivaldo, Patrick Kluivert, Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho.

One player who may have beaten Suarez’s tally was Ronaldo. The Brazil legend spent just one season at Barcelona and made only 49 appearances, but he still managed a whopping 47 goals.

Barcelona get their Champions League campaign under way on Tuesday evening as they host Celtic at Camp Nou.

Luis Enrique’s side will also face Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach in Group C.
