Prison Break: 23 Officers Dismissed, 10 Others Suspended

Twenty three prisons officers have been dismissed with eleven others suspended by the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board for their complicity in the escape of prisoners from Kuje Medium Security and Koton Karfe Prisons.

The dismissal was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Board, Alhaji A Ibrahim which considered serious misconduct and negligence of duty leveled against the affected officers.

Meanwhile, the Officer In Charge of Nsukka Prison, DCP Okonkwo Lawrence and ten others have been suspended over the recent prisoner’s escape from the prison.
