Rob Kardashian ‘Continues to Eat Junk Food Despite Diabetes Diagnosis’
His family insisted that he would start taking his diet into account after he was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
But Rob Kardashian seems to be ‘unfazed’ by the health scare, reportedly maintaining the unhealthy lifestyle he lived before.
According to TMZ, the 28-year-old – who has struggled with his weight in recent years – has made no efforts to change his ways, continuing to snack on junk food and neglecting his exercise regime, days after older sister Khloe insisted he was ‘taking his health seriously’.
Despite being rushed to hospital in December when he received the shock diagnosis, Rob – who now has to inject himself with insulin every day – is allegedly refusing to change his ways.
The news has come as a blow to the Kardashians, who are now said to be ‘worried his condition will worsen and his life will be in peril.’
The family are also said to have hired a full-time chef who specialises in diabetes diets as well as a nutritionist and trainer.
The news comes just days after Khloe appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday to announce that she’s supporting her brother as he commits himself to improving his health.
‘So that health scare, if that’s going to make him shake him up a little bit and let’s jump start his health journey, then great, I’m right here for him. And he’s taking it seriously,’ the 31-year-old told Lara Spencer.
When asked if her brother had Type 2 diabetes, the reality star admitted she was uncertain ‘which one’ Rob was diagnosed with.
Khloe also said she encouraged Rob to start 2016 on a clean slate.
‘Yeah, he had a health scare, but again leaving that in 2015, he got out before the New Year, so I was like okay, let’s leave all that stuff then,’ she said.
‘Listen, you found out what the problem is, let’s tackle it head on. Everything happens for a reason.’
The reality star echoed statements she made during a recent interview with Extra, where she mentioned Rob was sincere about improving his health.
‘It’s 2016 and we’re trying to focus on his health and getting better, and I think that health scare made him take things a little more seriously, which is all I could ask for,’ she said during her Extra interview.
Rob was rushed to hospital with stomach problems on December 27.
TMZ cited Rob’s diagnosis as diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious complication that makes the blood too acidic.
