Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has hit the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton, saying “there’s a special place in hell” for young women who don’t vote for the Democratic presidential candidate.
“Young women have to support Hillary Clinton. The story is not over,” Albright said during a campaign event in Concord, New Hampshire, over the weekend.
“They’re going to want to push us back,” she continued. “It’s not done and you have to help. Hillary Clinton will always be there for you. And just remember, there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other.”
Albright, who served as secretary of state under former President Bill Clinton, stumped for his wife, Hillary, ahead of the first primary in New Hampshire on Tuesday.
Clinton, a former secretary of state herself, laughed at the comment, but it has caused a firestorm on social media.
