Igbinedion University Was Built With Edo State Money – Oshiomole
Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole on Thursday accused Lucky Igbinedion, a former Governor of Edo State of embezzling funds for the development of the state. Oshiomole made the allegations at an event organized to mark his 7th year anniversary as Governor of Edo State in Benin-City.
According to Governor Oshiomole, the Igbinedion University Okada, a private university owned by Sir Gabriel Igbinedion, father of former Edo State Governor Lucky Igbinedion, was built with Edo State money.
“There are many files I am yet to open. I am not here to probe the past, but if the past if preventing the present…” Oshiomole said.
The Governor noted that he has terminated and revoked all their contracts.
He decried the fact that the Igbinedion family privatized the commonwealth of the Edo people by collecting royalties on lands illegally.
He promised to further revoke all lands and private properties illegally acquired by the Igbinedion family in Edo State.
